Most Frequently Asked Questions About Juicing & Juicers

Top FAQ about Juicing and Juicers

Question: How Do I Find the Best Juicer to Buy?

Answer: This is the most frequently asked of our “Frequently Asked Questions” at Juicerreviewzone. The simplest answer is: “Choose the juicer that best fits your needs“.

Consider these 5 questions then hop over to our Buyer’s Guide for a quick overview of our juicer categories and see which best meets your needs.

  • What is your budget?
  • What kinds of produce do you plan on juicing?
  • How often do you plan on using your juicer; daily, weekly, once in a ‘blue moon’?
  • Do you plan on using your juicer for every serving or want to juice “in bulk“?
  • How much juice do you plan on producing / how many individuals are partaking?

Question: Do I Have to Use Organic Produce in a Juicer?

Answer: Not at all! However, organic and locally grown produce will yield higher volumes of more nutrient rich juice than commercial produce. This is because organic / local produce is allowed to fully ripen before harvest and then is quickly made available for sale, within just a couple days, if not hours, of harvesting.

Question: If I’m On a “Juice Fast” or “Juice Cleanse” can I use a Blender Instead of a Juicer?

Answer: First and foremost: participating in juice “fasting” or “cleansing” may be very detrimental to your health. It’s important to speak with a doctor (we are NOT doctors) before starting any extreme diet regimen.

That being said, the answer is no. You cannot use a blender instead of a juicer.

The fundamental difference between “blending” produce and “juicing” produce has to do with the fiber and insoluble matter content of the final product. Blending produce minces everything into a drinkable slurry, while juicing removes a large percentage of fiber and the insoluble resulting in a “clean” juice. This maximizes nutritional absorption with minimal strain during digestion.

Question: Should I Add Water to my Fresh Juice?

Answer: It’s completely up to you! In many cases it’s only necessary to add a base (water, milk, simple syrup, etc.) if you’re creating smoothies or shakes from your juice. Otherwise, it’s perfectly okay – even recommended – to drink your fresh juice in its “pure” state.

Question: Why is Fresh Juice Better?

Answer: There are a lot of reasons why fresh juice – fresh anything – is ideal compared to most processed foods. A majority of those reasons have to do with nutritional value. The longer something is allowed to sit on the shelf, in the fridge, or in the freezer, the more nutrients are lost. So, even “100% Juice” juices you purchase from the store will not be nearly as nutritionally dense as juice made ten minutes ago.

Question: Which is Better: Fruit or Veggie Juice?

Answer: To get the most out of your juice use both!

The most widely accepted ratio is 90/10:

  • 10% Fruit
  • 90% Vegetables.

Question: What’s the Best Produce for Juicing?

Answer: Some fruits and vegetables simply juice better than others. Some have higher nutritional content. Some are just much tastier. For the most part it’s important you create juice that you enjoy drinking. After all, fresh juice is still better than no juice at all!

Answer: Heck yeah! A healthy diet teamed with physical therapy is the perfect combination for a speedy and full recovery. Any doctor (or physical therapist) will tell you that eating healthy during recovery is key. Juicing is an excellent way to supplement your healthy diet and assure you’re getting all the vitamins and nutrients you need to recover in a timely manner.
